đ Configurable On-Call Shift Reminders
Whatâs more jarring than getting paged when you didnât even know you were on call? Luckily for Rootly users, this isnât something you need to worry about. You can choose exactly when and how you want to be notified that your on-call shifts are starting or ending.
Head to On-Call > Notifications in the Rootly web platform and select the time frame and method(s) for receiving your notifications. You can choose from email, SMS, Slack (or all three if you want to be extra careful). Youâll receive a notification letting you know which schedule(s) youâre going on-call for and when. Weâll only notify you for active schedules, meaning if youâre on an on-call schedule that isnât in use (e.g. not connected to an escalation policy), we wonât send a notification.
If you're a user of the Rootly mobile app, you can even customize the sound for your shift reminders from the app, under Settings >Â Sounds:
Shift Reminders are enabled by default, so we encourage you to pop into your On-Call Notification settings and make sure theyâre configured to your liking.Â
